Our Services

• Floor sanding - the process of levelling or removing the top layer of the floors, by using wood floor abrasives, which is carried out using modern efficient dust collecting machines capable of producing a fine finish which is essential, if the floor is to be stained. Floor Sanding is only the first stage of the wood floor restoration process as it only makes the surface smooth, clean and flat by removing the protective layer which was previously applied such as varnish, oils or wax. Sometimes older floorboards or parquet blocks may need to be re-fitted or entirely replaced if parts of the floor have been damaged due to moisture.

• Gap filling – is part of the wood floor restoration process. With time and due to natural expansion and shrinking of the wood because of environmental changes, gaps open between the planks or the blocks. Many people want those gaps filled during the floor restoration. Depending on the size of the gaps, there are several ways in which the gap filling can be made.

• Staining - is only one part of the hardwood floor refinishing process, but it can have the biggest impact on the appearance of your floors. Staining is an excellent way to change the look of hardwood flooring without losing the natural beauty and character of the wood floors. When considering refinishing your floors, you may decide to restore them back to their natural state. In that case no stain would be needed since the sanding and finish coats will make your floors as good as new. In other cases staining is essential in order to drastically change the aesthetic feel in your home.

• Vanishing and Oiling - floors can be sealed in these two ways, each having its own advantages and disadvantages. It actually depends entirely on your personal preferences and of what is expected of the floor, e.g. easy maintenance, shiny look or natural appearance.

• Buffing - wood floor buffing helps in removing raised grains and hairs and leaves your flooring with smooth finish. The process involves light sanding of the old finish and then applying a new layer of finish. Buffing will not remove the stain or colour from a hardwood floor, it simply removes the top layers of the protective coating.
