About the Business
Reclaimed holds its origins in Redbridge Demolition which was based in Leytonstone for fifty years. Over time they developed a London based market place for salvaged building materials, in particular floorboard's, doors, bricks and structural timbers. Reclaimed initial business was as a bespoke furniture manufacturer exclusively using antique timbers.

Some twenty years ago Reclaimed acquired the assets of Redbridge Demolition upon the retirement of the owner. To refine the business we decided to concentrate on selling reclaimed timber and to drop all other architectural salvage.Growth came from developing a strong web presence which gave us exposure to a nationwide marketplace.

Eight years ago we outgrew our original Leytonstone site moving to our current Sewardstone location.Web exposure gave us access to exiting new sources of different timbers from across Europe, Turkey and the USA all of which have proved popular with our growing customer base both domestically and international.

Today in our three warehouses we hold one of the largest and most diverse ranges of reclaimed timbers in the country, combined with the ability to mill to order we have become one of the UK leading suppliers.

Softwood Flooring

Softwood Flooring

The most common form of softwood flooring is a form of pine. The most common and cheapest are yellow pine, Baltic pine, Colombian pine or white fir. These can be provided in a variety of widths, the general rule the wider the board the higher the price.

Victorian pine floorboards are generally up to 7” wide, wider boards tend to be Georgian Flooring and are rare and expensive. Douglas fir and pitch pine are harder, more durable with a straighter grain, and make a superior floor.

Old factories were invariably covered with roof boards for insulation under the tiles. They are increasingly popular as they are rough sawn and can be hand sanded to retain their rustic characteristics.
