In an industry where low budget production of inferior quality products, is unfortunately now the norm. Our designer floors buck this trend by using the finest quality European Oak and American Black walnut timbers available, engineered using the traditional tried and tested methods on furniture grade birch plywood. This enables us to provide our floors with a 20 year residential and 10 year commercial, structural guarantee.
The unparalleled stability of our engineered boards make them the perfect choice for installation on any type of sub-floor including projects that incorporate water borne under floor heating systems. Through extensive laboratory testing and with the experience of countless, successful on site installations, we can provide the same hefty guarantee whether the project adopts under floor heating or otherwise.
All of our quality wood floors are finished by hand, by us, in our artisan floor finishing studio in Essex. We have probably the most diverse range of finishes available anywhere but to guarantee the highest level of performance, as well as achieving the desired look, every product is finished with our same durable, antibacterial, clear top coats.
We have developed our finish over many years, to provide what we feel is the perfect blend of beauty, durability, liveability and ease of maintenance and in the event of your floor being damaged, repairs are significantly more straightforward than with a factory finished product. Being in complete control of the finishing process also means that our designs will never be discontinued.
With absolute minimal running maintenance you shouldn’t need to have our floors sanded and re-finished in situ.

Insurance
We conduct a great deal of work under the remit of wood flooring insurance claims.
Through what unfortunately will most often be the result of a stressful and inconvenient occurrence, followed by the difficulties in dealing with loss adjusters and wood flooring insurance companies, William Beard Flooring Ltd can provide all the necessary support and guidance you will need in getting things back to normal ASAP!
We can conduct small isolated repairs, through to complete replacements of wooden floors. Where it is required, we also have a small network of trustworthy, reliable and skilled peripheral trades people that we work alongside regularly. They like ourselves are domestic specialists. We can also project manage the team to keep your inconvenience to a minimum and you can relax with piece of mind that we have things under control.

We offer the highest level of support and cooperation available on both a technical and design level.
As well as our beautiful natural shades and multi tonal finishes, we have developed an exciting range of vibrant, eye catching, unique designs which are perfectly suited for the middle to high end hospitality and retail markets.
Whilst we have an extremely diverse range, we also have the flexibility to help you realise your vision for a project, if you have something specific in mind and can adopt architect specified finishes if necessary.

Wood Floors & Under Floor Heating
Under floor heating has become a hugely popular way of heating a space.
Whilst being a fantastic, environmentally sound choice, UFH systems create their own set of technical considerations when choosing and installing the right final floor covering. UFH can stress engineered flooring far more than the usual climatic variations that it would be exposed to under normal conditions in this country.
That is why we produce engineered European Oak and American Black Walnut products that have been specifically designed to work on all waterborne UFH systems and some high quality electric systems. Our UFH planks are laminated using the tried and tested, traditional cold press method as opposed to the heat sensitive, far Eastern, hot press method which is prone to issues on UFH. Our plank is made from a single layer of the finest quality, furniture grade, European manufactured, Birch plywood. Once machined the planks go through a further conditioning process to prepare them for being laid over UFH and to ensure that they remain stable throughout.
Stairs and Joinery
We find that the convenience and simplicity for the client of grouping all joinery items into one package works extremely well both from a budgeting and logistical perspective. We can offer a design, manufacture and installation service on staircases both in timber and steel floating and can include traditional timber balustrade or more contemporary glass and metal alternatives as well as cladding existing staircases. We supply a wide range of internal doors and can always help with custom commissions, non-standard sizes and fire rating.
We offer a range of standard and bespoke timber mouldings including wall panelling, door linings, architraves and skirting boards.
All joinery items can be provided supply only or fully installed. We have the added benefit of being able to finish any timber items to perfectly compliment your chosen floor without the need to have additional trades on site and most items can be pre-finished by hand in our workshop reducing the amount of wet work on site also.

Restoration Service
We love returning wooden floors to their former glory and conduct full restoration work on original pine boards and parquet floors and also to more contemporary floors in need of some TLC when their finish is fatigued.
When it comes to period restoration works we take great care and pride in doing justice to the original assets of a building.
We can conduct the most sympathetic repairs to damaged or rotten sections of floors using genuine reclaimed materials from a similar period and have even moved whole parquet floors from one part of a house to another on a previous project where the client was remodelling but was desperate to retain the beautiful original oak parquet.

William Beard Flooring are domestic wood floor installation specialists. We fully understand that flooring work will invariably be disruptive and therefore make every effort to minimise this disruption for our clients wherever possible.
