Quicksand Flooring

Sanding and finishing a hardwood floor is a skill learnt over many years. Our fully trained staff work only for quicksand flooring and we do not sub contract our work as we firmly believe it’s the personal touch that matters. All our finishers are trained by the company and are taught that it is the customers satisfaction that is of the up-most importance.

For our wood floor restoration service we use only the latest machinery made by a German company called lagler and we have been using these machines for years with nothing but the highest quality of workmanship. The only problem with natural wood flooring is that modern heating and house movement causes floor boards to retract and expand, causing natural shrinkage and leaving gaps between each board. These collect dust and hair – an issue for those who clean the house. Gaps in floorboards can also result in drafts and creaking.

Now…Imagine if you could fill those gaps quickly and easily – and get a professional looking natural wooden floor without the gaps? Well… now you can, because Quicksand Flooring have found a solution… We’ve found the “SLIVER” which is used to fill the gaps, helping to prevent dust build up and giving you the chance to create a professional-looking floor with minimal fuss. What’s more, if you have a pipe under the floor board, or squeaky boards, rather than nailing it you can put a SLIVER in.

Quicksand are a leading commercial and school floors contractor. We are experienced school floor sanding specialists and use proven methods of wood floor sanding and floor restoration that will leave your floor neat and tidy with a smooth, professional finish. We commence by sanding down all of the existing floor by using five grades of abrasive belts decreasing in coarseness upon each sand.

When we have achieved a perfectly fine finish we would then apply the stain (if required),followed by 2 to 3 coats (depending on the customers preference, i.e oil, wax or seal). This will be buffed after each application to ensure no undulations occur on the surface.

If you want something different why not change the colour of your floor by applying an oil based stain. Any hardwood flooring can be stained to your request and can bring a otherwise dull looking floor back to life.

When one of our qualified team come to your premises we can apply several different sample colours to your floor for you to choose. The reason we do this and do not use colour charts is that stains can look different on different types of wood. When a test is applied to your floor you know exactly the colour you are getting.
