About the Business
He started working in the flooring industry in 1983 as an apprentice carpet fitter at John Lewis in Peterborough.
After six years, Kevin moved to Stamford Carpet Centre on St. Mary's Hill which was owned by Andy Hill. He worked there for six years fitting carpets in the Stamford and Rutland areas. During this time, Kevin gained much experience fitting flooring in the mid to high end residential market. Sadly Stamford Carpet Centre has now closed.
Next Kevin worked for Uppingham Carpet Centre in Rutland, owned at the time by John Attenborough. Attention to detail, taking time to ensure Customer Service was maintained were the order of the day in this role where standards were very high. Kevin returned to John Lewis as a sub-contractor before deciding to work alone and set up Xpert Flooring.
