About the Business

Seymour Dugan began trading in 1966 at number 3 Chapel Hill, Lisburn - formerly the family home - selling second-hand furniture. Seymour's father and grandfather had previously ran their plumbing business from this address.

Over a period, the focus of the business switched to new furniture. In the early 1970s the first carpet shop opened at Graham Gardens, Lisburn. The carpet and furniture businesses were transferred to the present premises at 42-56 Chapel Hill in the early 1980s.

Seymour's sons, Jonathan and Rodney, acquired the business in 1994 and, as partners, introduced the wood flooring department. Following a malicious fire, which completely destroyed the premises, the present modern store was opened in 2000 and the rug gallery opened two years later. In a marketplace that is challenging for independent retailers, Seymour Dugan Interiors succeeds by offering a large, varied and ever changing selection, purchased direct from leading manufacturers worldwide.
